At LocalArt.Store, we believe every artist deserves the best chance to succeed.
One of the most powerful — and often overlooked — ways to boost your art sales is simple but crucial: professional-quality product photography and clear, compelling descriptions.
Here’s why they matter so much — and how they help you get discovered, get clicks, and get sales.
Your product photo is your artwork’s first handshake with a buyer.
Before anyone reads a title or clicks to learn more, they see your work.
A blurry, dark, or cluttered image instantly lowers trust — no matter how incredible the actual piece is.
Clear, well-lit photos (ideally on a neutral background) make your artwork shine.
They tell buyers:
➔ This artist is professional.
➔ This piece is worth a closer look.
➔ This is something I can see in my home or office.
Pro tip:
The main image should be a straight-on shot, cropped to show the piece fully and without distractions. Upload multiple photos showing different angles, close-ups of texture, and a room view (such as the artwork displayed on a wall).
Think of your product description as your personal gallery assistant.
It answers the buyer’s questions before they even have to ask:
What size is the artwork?
What materials did you use?
Is it framed or ready to hang?
What inspired you to create it?
The best descriptions are clear, specific, and help the buyer imagine the piece in their own life — while staying true to your artistic voice.
Real Example:
Suppose you painted a beautiful piece featuring roses.
Instead of titling it something generic like “Untitled #5,” choose a name that hints at what it is without forcing it.
For example:
"Blooming Roses"
In your description, you could naturally say:
"This vibrant 16x20 inch acrylic painting features a close-up view of blooming pink roses, captured in a modern impressionistic style. Perfect for lovers of floral art, this original piece brings a touch of nature’s beauty into any home or office. Ready to hang with a protective varnish finish."
Important:
If your title and description already mention words like roses or floral, like in the example above, you don’t need to repeat them again in the tag words.
Tags are there to fill gaps — not to duplicate.
Focus first on writing an authentic, natural title and description that fit your artwork, then add a few related keywords to help people searching.
For our example, tags like Flowers or Garden would be useful because neither are in the title or description.
Pro tip:
When writing your title and description, always ask yourself:
"If I were shopping for this piece, what would I type into the search bar?"
Simple, honest keywords help the right buyers find you — and help your art sell faster.
✔ Bright, high-resolution photos (no blur, no heavy shadows)
✔ Multiple views (full piece, close-ups, in a room)
✔ Accurate size, materials, and framing details
✔ Clear, easy-to-read description
✔ Natural keywords in title or description (tags can fill gaps if needed)
