The Art Gallery of Peterborough (AGP) was established in 1974 and opened the doors to its current facility in 1979 on the shore of Little Lake, along the Otonabee River. It is a non-profit public art gallery dedicated to exhibiting and collecting visual works of art. From its inception, the gallery established a primary goal to focus on celebrating Canadian culture, presenting contemporary visual art by artists working in the Peterborough-Kawarthas region and across the nation.
